Data security and privacy statement

Introduction

Protecting your privacy has a high priority for us and our company. Syracom adheres to a strict policy for ensuring the confidentiality of your personally identifiable information (PII), or sensitive personal information (SPI). For this reason, we have taken technical and organizational measures to ensure that the rules on data protection are observed by us, as well as by our partners and external service providers. We want to point out, that the transmission of data on the internet can have security gaps and complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

Below we inform you about the collection of personal data when using our Apps and services.

Data security and privacy of our apps

We do not collect, store or process any private/sensitive information in the apps suitable for Atlassian server products, nor do we collect, store or process any analytical or tracking data, or place cookies or tracking beacons in any apps suitable for Atlassian server products. If not stated otherwise, all of our server apps are designed to work on onPremise installations behind the firewall, without access to the internet.

Some of our apps depend on the usage of personal data, like usernames and e-mail addresses. All this information is only used internally by the app and - if at all - is stored within the local database of your Atlassian server product. The "Administrator's guide" of each of our apps contain as section "privacy information" which contains a description, which personal information is processed and for which reason.

Licensing and Billing information

Any personal information required by the licensing and billing process is collected and processed by Atlassian. That is governed by the Atlassian Marketplace Terms of Use and the Atlassian Privacy Policy. As part of the reporting and analytics features provided by Atlassian to Marketplace vendors, we have access to this personal and billing informations. That contains:

  • Billing ID
  • Transaction ID
  • Contact information of the technical contact (name and e-mail address)
  • Country
  • License tier
  • Hosting type
  • Maintanance information
  • Contact information of the involved Atlassian partner

We can use this information for analysis and improvements of our apps and our internal statistics. We may also use the information to contact you concerning service updates of apps for which you are listed as the technical contact. Syracom may use 3rd party services for such analysis and communication. In that case we will ensure, that a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is in place.

Atlassian Marketplace listings

Atlassian uses Google Analytics to collect usage information on the Atlassian Marketplace add-on listing pages. Any information collected by Atlassian or third party partners on the Atlassian Marketplace website is governed by the Atlassian Privacy PolicyAdditionally, Atlassian provides marketplace vendors the possibility to integrate Google Analytics into their Marketplace apps listing pages.

We use this possibility to analyze and regulray improve the use of our marketplace listings. With the statistics we can improve our offer and make it more useful for you as a user. For the exceptional cases in which personal information is transferred to the USA, Google has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/welcome.

The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is Art. 6 I 1 lit. f GDPR.

The Atlassian Marketplace uses Google Analytics with the extension "_anonymize ()". As a result, IP addresses are processed shortened, a person-relatedness can be excluded. No other PIIs are collected, stored or analyzed.

Furthermore, you can prevent the gathering of the data (including your IP address) that is generated by the GA cookie, and that relates to your use of the marketplace listings and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin that is available via the following link: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Atlassian also provides the possibility to include YouTube videos in the app listing pages. We may make use of this option in some of our app listing pages. That videos are stored on www.YouTube.com. We assume these are all included in the "extended privacy mode," which means that you do not transfer data about you as a user to YouTube if you are not playing the videos. Only when you play the videos will the following data be transmitted. We do not influence this data transfer. For more information about it, please refer to the Atlassian Marketplace Terms of Use and the Atlassian Privacy Policy.

Customer support

Syracom uses Atlassian cloud offerings for JIRA and JIRA Service Desk to provide and manage customer support. Customers who wish to contact the Syracom support are required to create an Atlassian ID account. Any personal information requested in the account sign up process will be collected, stored and processed by Atlassian and is governed by the Atlassian Privacy Policy. The same applies to if you sent an e-mail to the support address. This mails are forwarded to the Service Desk and will automatically generate an Atlassian ID account for you and send an email notification to you.
