Configuration
Open Configuration
Click on the Settings- “⚙” Icon in the top right corner of your Jira Cloud Instance and select “Apps”.
The Jira Apps screen will be loaded.
To open the Project Picker Admin Page, select Project Picker in the left navigation.
To open the Project Picker Configuration, select “Configure Project Picker” in the App Page.
Initial Configuration
Before the initial Configuration of your Project Picker field, there will be no options in the Project Picker App Page or Configuration Page. To set your initial Project Picker field, you must follow these steps:
If you have not yet created a suitable (single select) custom field in your instance, you must create one. https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/create-a-custom-field/
Under “Field Select”, select the Field you want to act as the Project Picker. (Only custom single select fields will be available)
Click “Save”.
General Configuration
After configuring the acting field, more configuration options will be available.
“Automatically set Project Lead as Request Participant if Project gets Picked in a Request.”
If a Cloud-Project is selected in a request containing the Project Picker, the App will automatically add the corresponding Project Lead as a Request Participant.
“Show Icon indicating Company-Managed or Team-Managed Project type.”
The Cloud-Project options in the Project Picker will have Icons, identifying Projects as Company-Managed (🏭) or Team-Managed (👥)
“Show Icon indicating External Projects”
“External Project options in the Project Picker will have an Icon, identifying them as External Projects. If this Toggle is activated, the user can choose the corresponding Icon (🌍, 🚪, 🔗)“
External Projects
Add External Projects
External Projects can be added within the Admin Page of the App.
Type the required external projects into the “Add External Projects" field. The syntax is up to the user, but we recommend to first type the project name followed by the project key in brackets: "Project name (KEY)". Multiple projects can be added at the same time by separating them with a comma (,): "Datacenter Project (DP), Example Project (BP)". To save the entered projects, click the button "Add".
Delete External Projects
External Projects can also be deleted within the Admin Page of the App.
Simply select all projects to be deleted in the "Delete External Projects" field and click on the "Delete" button.
Update Field options
Scheduled
The app automatically updates the options of the Project Picker field every hour. Of course, external projects are excluded from this process and must be deleted or added manually.
Manually
On the App Admin page there is a button "Update field options", with which an administrator can manually update the options of the Project Picker field at any time.
